FAQs

What is client confidentiality?

Client confidentiality is an important ethical obligation for psychologists and it is enshrined in the code of ethics and conduct of the British Psychology Society. It means we are not allowed to share any information we have about you (including anything you disclose during sessions) to any third-parties without consent. The only exception is if you disclosed something to us which might suggest a possibility of harm coming either to yourself or someone else. In that case we would be ethically obliged to inform whoever is best placed to keep everyone safe. This could be your emergency contact or in extreme cases even the emergency services.

Can I cancel a session?

Yes, but please do provide as much advance notice as possible. Please note that if you cancel a session within 48 hours without a valid reason, we would not be able to refund you and you would have to pay for another session to reschedule. However, compassion is very important to us and if you do have a valid reason for cancelling a session within 48 hours or missing a session, then we can of course reschedule the session free of charge.

How can I pay?

All invoices must be paid within 5 days and in advance before the session. We accept payments by bank transfer, card (Mastercard and Visa), Apple Pay, Google Pay, Revolut Pay and Crypto.com Pay. All payments are based in GBP. Payment instructions can be found on your invoice.

Do you do discounts?

Yes, a 10% discount is available if you book 10 hours or more and pay in full in advance. A 20% discount is available if you book 20 hours or more and pay in full and in advance. Similar discounts are available for long consultancy projects or workshop programmes and quotes are available based on estimated hours upon enquiry.

Can I get a refund?

Unfortunately we do not offer any refunds.

I have been diagnosed with a mental disorder, can we still work together?

We are able and happy to work with individuals diagnosed with mental disorders as long as we stay within our competency, working together on performance-based issues or other general issues and we do not use our sessions specifically as treatment for mental disorders. Please note that it is not within our competency to provide treatment for severe mental disorders as our training was specialised for performance-based populations rather than clinical populations. If you are suffering from a mental disorder, we would highly recommend you seek the help of appropriate professionals if you have not done so yet.

Where will sessions/workshops happen?

The majority of our services are offered online and we are happy to work with clients from across the world. Unfortunately we do not currently have any offices or premises where we are able to hold sessions or workshops, but we are happy to travel to your offices or facilities to provide psychological services, although this may incur extra charges as detailed in the pricing section.

What do performance psychologists do?

Performance psychologists apply their expertise in the psychology behind human performance to help clients optimise their performance, this often includes helping clients maintain their own wellbeing which is a key factor in optimal performance.

What is the difference between a performance psychologist vs sport psychologist vs clinical psychologist vs psychiatrist vs life coach vs mental coach?

Many of these professionals provide similar and overlapping services, but they are not exactly the same. In short, Performance Psychologists help clients improve performance. A Sport and Exercise Psychologist is a protected title in the UK and specialises in providing psychological support for athletes and sports teams. Sport psychology, performance psychology and organisational psychology often overlap and many practitioners work within all three fields.

A Clinical Psychologist is also a protected title in the UK and specialise in a clinical population. A Psychiatrist is a protected title in the UK too, they are a medical doctor whose role is mainly prescribing medication and treatment for mental health problems, some may also have been trained additionally to provide psychological support. A life coach helps clients improve their quality of life by working together to set goals and work towards them. A mental coach or mental trainer delivers mental skills training, which Performance Psychologists and Sport and Exercise Psychologists also often provide. If you are unsure about which professional to work with or about whether we can help you, please do not hesitate to contact us to arrange a free 30 minutes consultation.
